Campus Engagement Award: Veritas Forum 2023
Congratulations to the Bearings team for their acknowledgment at this year’s Veritas Weekend in Boston! The team received recognition for their engagement with the students on Grounds through a survey meant to gauge the questions students were asking about faith and life.

Bearings in the Augustine Collective Newsletter

The Bearings journal was featured in the Augustine Collective newsletter in celebration of the journal’s release of its Spring 2022 issue.
A reflection by editor-in-chief Annika Reynolds on this recent Bearings success:
“On the day of our pitch deadline in mid-February, UVA Bearings hosted our first-ever pitch workshop for our upcoming “Abundance” issue. We wanted to create a space for writers and artists to brainstorm with our team, discuss their ideas with editors, or work independently in a peaceful setting. We set up many different inspiration stations for our writers with brainstorming tools, writing prompts, art supplies, poetry books, journals from our fellow AC schools, as well as thought-provoking questions submitted by our peers through surveys we posted around campus the week before. Through this workshop, we recruited many new writers and received a record number of new pitches!”
The team is so grateful for this recognition of their work.
